Job summary

The Stratus Team is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support a wide range of land development and industrial projects. This role combines hands-on civil engineering design with project management, client engagement, permitting coordination, and team leadership.

The successful candidate will manage projects, liaise with clients and agencies, and contribute to commercial developments, energy projects, and nationwide initiatives, with opportunities to travel and grow within a nationwide team.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.
• 4–8 years of experience in engineering design and project coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with site planning, grading design, stormwater management, utility design, erosion and sediment control, and permitting.
• Strong understanding of state and municipal approval processes.
• Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and client communication skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing civil engineering and land development projects from concept through construction.
• Coordinate project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and resource allocation.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory agencies.
• Support business development efforts through client relationship management and identification of new opportunities.
• Lead and prepare civil engineering designs and construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.
• Develop site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management systems, utility plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and drainage analyses.
