Job summary

BL Companies is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer and Project Manager to oversee land development projects from inception to completion in Connecticut. You will lead design efforts, manage client expectations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license, has 10+ years of land development experience, and excels at mentoring staff, engaging municipal agencies, and navigating regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• PE license required.
• 10+ years of land development engineering experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing full-time staff.
• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations.
• Experience working with municipal agencies, regulatory bodies, and private sector clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of retail, commercial, and residential land development projects.
• Act as the primary client contact, building relationships and managing expectations.
• Oversee project teams, assign resources, and drive efficiency.
• Ensure projects meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
• Present at public meetings and represent clients before agencies and stakeholders.
• Collaborate across multiple disciplines and with external partners.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff to foster learning.
