Job summary

BL Companies seeks a Senior Civil Engineer – Land Development to oversee projects from concept to completion, guiding design, client relationships, and execution with a focus on quality within scope, budget and timeline.

The ideal candidate is a PE-licensed professional with 8+ years of land development experience, strong leadership, and mentoring skills, capable of working in a primarily remote role with occasional in-office meetings in the Northeast.

Qualifications

• PE license required and active.
• 8+ years of land development engineering experience.
• Proven leadership and staff mentoring experience.
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
• Experience with municipal agencies, regulatory bodies, and private clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of retail, commercial, and residential land development projects.
• Act as primary client contact and manage expectations.
• Oversee project teams, allocate resources, and drive efficiency.
• Ensure quality, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Present at public meetings and represent clients to agencies.
• Collaborate across disciplines and mentor junior staff.
