Job summary

BL Companies in Connecticut seeks a Senior Technical Civil Engineer to oversee land development projects from start to finish. The role focuses on site layout, grading, storm water design, and permits for retail, commercial, and residential spaces.

The successful candidate will have 8+ years of civil/utility engineering experience, PE license preferred, and strong leadership and communication skills. Hybrid work environment with comprehensive benefits and employee ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of civil or utility-related engineering experience
• PE license preferred
• Experience with site layout, grading, stormwater and erosion control design
• Experience in civil-related utility design and trenchless technology
• Experience with field issue resolution and producing design drawings
• Geotechnical/foundation knowledge and specification writing
• Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers is a plus
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

• Oversee land development projects from start to finish
• Perform site layout, grading and earthwork calculations
• Design and permit storm water management and erosion control systems
• Prepare/submit local land development permits
• Quality assurance of drawings and deliverables
• Mentor and develop junior staff
• Collaborate with municipal agencies and multiple disciplines
