Job summary

Key Point Health Services is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy and daily accounting for a nonprofit behavioral health organization in Maryland. The CFO reports to the CEO, guides budgeting, cash flow, and revenue cycle, and advances plans toward becoming a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) by 2030.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
• At least eight years of progressively responsible finance or accounting experience, including leading financial operations and supervising staff.
• Experience in healthcare or behavioral health finance, including Medicaid reimbursement and revenue cycle management.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls knowledge; ability to analyze performance.
• Active CPA credential; MBA/MS in related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise the CEO and executive leadership team on financial performance, emerging risks, resource allocation, and financial implications of decisions.
• Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and multiyear financial plans with staffing, service volumes, and expenses assumptions.
• Prepare financial reports and recommendations for the CEO, advisory board, and committees; explain variances and actions.
• Own the general ledger and month-end/year-end close; manage journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivables, payroll, and cash receipt processes with proper approvals.
• Prepare accurate nonprofit financial statements in line with GAAP and nonprofit requirements.
• Coordinate external audits and tax filings; manage grants and restricted funds.
