Job summary

County of Marin is seeking a Capital Planning and Project Manager I/II to support capital improvement projects from planning through closeout. The role involves coordinating with design consultants, contractors, and county departments to ensure timely, within-budget project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of hands-on experience in moderately complex capital projects, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance remote and onsite work in a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of construction management principles and codes.
• Ability to develop and manage multiple capital projects.
• Experience coordinating design teams, bids, contracts, and documentation.
• Strong written and oral communication for leadership and public audiences.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and coordination of design consultant RFPs and vendors.
• Document design progress meetings and upload documents to online bidding platforms.
• Oversee contract award process with administrative staff and monitor progress against schedule and budget.
• Ensure compliance with state safety requirements and prepare management reports.
