Job summary

San Diego State University is seeking an analytical and collaborative Business Systems Analyst II to support the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity. You will analyze business processes, translate needs into technology solutions, and partner with campus teams to improve services and data integrity.

The role emphasizes collaboration, governance, and reporting across Student, Finance, and HR systems, with opportunities to influence operational effectiveness and student satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
• Experience with querying tools (SQL, Oracle SQL Developer) and complex data analysis.
• Four years of complex system analysis and project coordination in regulated environments.
• Project management experience in software development and system integration.
• Experience providing functional and technical support for a student information system (PeopleSoft Campus Solutions).

Responsibilities

• Analyze business processes, document requirements, and propose technology solutions that improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Systems to identify enhancements and support business process improvement initiatives.
• Document workflows, business process requirements, technical specifications, and system processes to support implementation and ongoing operations.
• Participate in system testing, validate results, and assist with implementation activities for enterprise business systems.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and data queries that support planning and informed decision-making.
