Job summary

Careerscape is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a hybrid role in Chicago, blending business strategy with technology delivery. You will lead discovery sessions, map current and future state processes, and translate stakeholder needs into structured, actionable requirements for developers, project managers, and business leaders.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years in a consulting or technology environment, strong communication, and expertise with Visio or Lucidchart, SQL, and both Agile

Qualifications

• 3–6 years as a Business Analyst in a consulting or tech environment
• Experience collecting requirements and mapping business processes
• Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences
• Proficiency with process-mapping tools (Visio or Lucidchart)
• Experience with SQL or other data analysis tools
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field
• CBAP/CCBA is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders
• Document current and future state processes through process maps
• Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements
• Facilitate workshops and interviews to uncover pain points
• Analyze data sets to identify trends supporting recommendations
• Partner with project managers to define scope, timelines, and success metrics
• Create and maintain BRDs, user stories, and process flows
• Communicate findings and recommendations to executives and stakeholders
• Support UAT planning and ensure delivered solutions meet business needs
• Track project progress and flag risks or scope changes early
