Job summary

State of California, Department of Transportation, seeks a Chief of the SM&I Office of Bridge Asset Management to lead supervision of bridge inspections, NBI/NTI, and program management for HM3 and SHOPP. The role includes developing QA procedures and guiding district engineers with asset management decisions.

The incumbent will manage data, software, and administrative tasks, with telework eligibility and travel as needed. Salary ranges from $13,892.00 to $15,782.00 per month.

Qualifications

• Valid civil engineer registration in California.
• Experience supervising bridge engineering staff and NBIS/NTIS.
• Knowledge of HM3, SHOPP, and director's orders related to bridges.

Responsibilities

• Advise districts on bridge asset management and project prioritization.
• Manage HM3 and Bridge SHOPP programs and SLA for support.
• Oversee safety inspection, NBIS data, load ratings for bridges.
• Oversee safety inspection and data for tunnels and overhead signs.
• Maintain and enhance software for inspection data and reporting.
• Develop QA procedures to meet national/state standards.
