Job summary
The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, is seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer to support the Scoping Unit in identifying rehabilitation needs and helping develop project scoping documents, cost estimates, and related budget materials. The position offers exposure to bridge asset management and coordination across bridge units.

Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in civil engineering and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in civil engineering work
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and a Master's degree from an accredited college in civil engineering
Responsibilities
- Assist Scoping Unit in identifying bridge rehabilitation, replacement, and component rehab needs
- Assist in developing project scoping documents, cost estimates, capital planning materials, and budget reports
- Review bridge inspection reports, inventory data, and condition ratings to determine project needs and priorities
- Support senior engineering staff in coordination with other bridge units and capital delivery groups
