Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Public Health seeks a hands-on technician to operate, maintain, and calibrate a range of laboratory instruments. You will schedule routine maintenance, perform corrective work, and manage maintenance records using a CMMS, while ensuring compliance with CLIA regulations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, mechanical aptitude, ability to read schematics, and the physical stamina to lift 50 pounds and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Good communication with public and staff.
• Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds and wear protective clothing.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, calibrate electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical lab instruments.
• Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and calibration services.
• Coordinate and perform unscheduled corrective maintenance.
• Generate and maintain maintenance records using CMMS.
