Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) is seeking a Bioinformatics Software Engineer III to advance precision oncology by developing software for genomic analysis and clinical annotation workflows on the OncoKB platform.

You will design scalable systems, collaborate with engineers, scientists, and clinicians, and contribute to front-end and back-end improvements. Hybrid schedule with in-office presence once a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of full-stack web development experience.
• Experience building and supporting production-level software applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in learning cancer biology, genomics, and precision medicine applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive system designs that support scalability and evolution of the OncoKB platform.
• Partner with the Lead Software Engineer and multidisciplinary teams.
• Design and enhance front-end and back-end applications for genomic analysis and clinical workflows.
• Contribute to growth of OncoKB website, API, and database infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
