Job summary

Walter P Moore in Houston, TX seeks a Technical Designer to develop BIM and construction-phase detailing for structural systems, including steel, concrete and light gauge steel. You will collaborate with architects, engineers and owners to deliver accurate models and clash-free workflows.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of digital BIM experience, a degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering, and proficiency in Tekla, Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, and related tools.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience developing and applying advanced digital BIM workflows
• Experience with BIM, parametric modeling, and interoperability required

Responsibilities

• Uses latest tools/digital workflows to create and maintain BIM information and interoperate with analysis, documentation, fabrication, and construction models
• Performs clash detection against reference models and resolves clashes
• Works with project team to plan and document digital implementation including analysis, design, documentation, fabrication, and construction models
• Audits models after key milestones for accuracy and adherence to standards
• Understands key building systems and typical layouts
• Learns detailing conventions for project-specific details
• Maintains budgetary objectives of the project
• Perform other functions as needed.
