Connexion Systems & Engineering Inc. seeks a Billing & Collections Specialist for a PERM role in Hartford with remote options on a hybrid schedule (3 days in, 2 remote). The position offers $75K-$90K annually and a comprehensive benefits package.

Candidates require 5+ years in legal billing and collections, proficiency with electronic billing and strong client service skills. Responsibilities include managing unbilled time, client statements, and adherence to billing policies while collaborating

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the legal industry with billing and collections.
• Experience with Aderant Expert Software, Paperless Prebill, TyMetrix, and Serengeti.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Outlook; able to generate reports and pivot tables.
• Strong client service skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Solid understanding of billing and collections, electronic billing processes and rate structures.
• Monitor and work directly with attorneys on unbilled time, costs, and collection of accounts receivable.
• Document client activity and collection efforts.
• Serve as Firm Ambassador in responding to client inquiries and facilitating collection efforts.
• Analyze client billing agreements and alternative fee arrangements.
• Maintain records related to client billing guidelines, agreements and collections.
• Adhere to firm billing and collection policies.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external clients on billing or collection of accounts receivable.
• Respond to attorney inquiries regarding unbilled inventory and billing data.
• Research and provide direction on resolving billing and payment issues.
• Identify short paid invoices and reconcile them.
• Issue monthly client Statements of Account.
• Cross train with other team members to assist with coverage.
• Assist with hotline and e-mail inbox requests.
• Train new attorneys and legal assistants on inventory processes and billing software.
