Job summary

Gaylord Insurance Agency is seeking an experienced Benefits Account Manager to independently manage a book of group benefits while leading and developing a service team. This hybrid, full-time role requires advanced Employee Navigator knowledge, extensive carrier experience, and strong renewal negotiation skills.

You will work with HR leaders, business owners, employees, carriers, payroll providers, and HRIS to ensure accurate enrollment, eligibility, and efficient benefits administration across

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in group benefits or commercial insurance.
• Active Illinois Life and Accident & Health licenses.
• Advanced Employee Navigator experience.
• Strong knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, disability products.
• Experience with carrier negotiations, renewals, and new business quoting.
• Weekly and monthly benefits audits experience.
• Ability to work remotely and attend onsite meetings.

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of group medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary accounts.
• Lead and train benefits service team.
• Negotiate rates and plan terms with carriers.
• Prepare rate analyses and renewal recommendations.
• Present renewal recommendations to HR teams and executives.
• Coordinate open enrollment and employee education.
