Job summary

Apple Bank in Bronx, NY is seeking a Universal Banker to serve as a full-service, single point of contact for customers. The role blends Customer Service Representative and Teller duties with branch leadership support and active cross-selling of bank products.

The UB will open new accounts, resolve issues, educate customers on products, and refer clients to licensed representatives when appropriate. Strong service and sales mindset is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years retail banking experience in teller/customer service roles.
• Understanding of banking operations (risk, compliance, fraud, loss) preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain knowledge of banking products and services.
• Willingness to cross-train in other branch functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service as a single point of contact.
• Promote and explain bank products and services to customers.
• Acquire new clients and refer to licensed representatives when appropriate.
• Build and maintain relationships to hit sales and referral goals.
• Handle Teller operations and cash handling per policy.
• Support opening/closing vaults, ATM, and maintain branch area.
• Ensure compliance with disclosures, CIP, BSA, and security policies.
• Assist in training new staff.
• Attend workshops to maintain knowledge.
