Job summary

Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, is seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to design and evolve backend-focused cloud and web applications for fuel management and IoT platforms. The role provides technical leadership in architecture, backend development, scalability, and best practices, collaborating with frontend, QA, product teams, and stakeholders.

The position is hybrid and located in Simsbury, CT; Hartford, CT; and Boston, MA in the US.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
10+ years of professional software development experience.
Experience with Node.js and MongoDB in production systems.
Experience deploying on AWS and Kubernetes.
Strong unit testing and modern web app architecture knowledge.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and test backend-focused software elements for cloud-based and web-based applications.
Architect and evolve back end application and system designs to align with standards, scalability, and roadmaps.
Provide support to Front-End engineers on solutions and standards.
Work in an Agile/Scrum team developing software for connectivity and IoT in fuel management platforms.
Lead requirements analysis and define software architecture with high performance and low latency.
