Job summary

Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, invites a Software Engineer II to join the Automatic Tank Gauge team in a hybrid role across Simsbury, CT; Hartford, CT; and Boston, MA. You will design, develop, and maintain software solutions, apply newer technology stacks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver game-changing fuel-management solutions.

Mentoring junior engineers and practicing Agile will be key parts of the role.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of OO development experience, ideally C++ or Java.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing is useful.
• Experience with REST APIs and JSON is useful.
• Experience with AWS or Azure is useful.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software solutions for Automatic Tank Gauge and related platforms.
• Apply knowledge of newer technology stacks and guide the team.
• Use Agile methodologies to improve team performance.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, QA and other teams to deliver solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers on design, coding best practices and new tech.
