Job summary

The Project Engineer at The Inland Group of Companies is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and monitoring engineering projects from initiation through completion, ensuring safety, on-schedule delivery, and adherence to budget and quality standards in a dynamic airport environment.

Based in Pittsburgh, PA, this full-time hybrid role requires leading multiple project phases—planning, design development, construction, commissioning and start-up—while maintaining strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience involving mechanical, chemical, and electrical industrial equipment and systems.
• Ability to develop detailed project plans, work breakdown structures (WBS), critical path schedules, and key project milestones.
• Strong project coordination and execution skills with the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
• Experience preparing reports, presentations, project documentation, and status updates for management teams.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Direct experience with formal project management methodologies is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Promote and model a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies, environmental commitments, and applicable regulations.
• Independently manage moderate to high-complexity projects from scope definition through project closeout.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, resource requirements, budgets, milestones, and performance measures.
• Coordinate project execution, monitor progress, and adjust plans as needed to achieve project objectives.
• Manage project documentation, records, reporting processes, and stakeholder communications.
• Coordinate project teams, contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Review project quality, evaluate outcomes against established objectives, and implement corrective actions where required.
• Prepare project, budget, and status reports while maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
