Job summary

Ford is seeking a Safety Investigations Engineer within the Sustainability, Environment & Safety group to support product safety investigations, PIR or CCRG, evaluating issues for potential safety defects or regulatory non-compliance.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration with PD, CS, STAS, and Manufacturing, develop tests, prepare presentations, maintain docs, and track status across multiple investigations in a hybrid role onsite four+ days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
• 1+ year of experience in engineering, quality, or project management.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
• High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional organizations and global teams.
• Effective oral communication and strong technical writing skills.
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management.
• Strong working knowledge of vehicle systems.
• Experience in Design & Release and/or Manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support safety investigations evaluating potential defects or regulatory non-compliance.
• Collaborate with PD, CS, STAS, Manufacturing, OGC to resolve issues.
• Develop broad range of contacts across the company to support root cause ownership.
• Coordinate special tests, field surveys to assess facts in evaluations.
• Prepare presentations and reports for technical and non-technical leadership discussions.
• Create and maintain investigation documentation and submit regulatory docs as needed.
• Maintain trackers, dashboards, and status reports across multiple investigations.
