Job summary

Gartner, Inc. in New Jersey seeks Consulting Associate Directors to lead project delivery, oversight, and client relationships. You will manage teams as an engagement manager, shape scope and design of projects, and guide delivery to meet timelines and statements of work.

You will leverage AI to improve client outcomes, mentor junior staff, participate in hiring, and drive growth while maintaining high-quality work and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience supporting state and local government clients.
• MBA/MPA or other advanced degree preferred.
• Experience within a well-regarded management consultancy in project delivery.
• Sales experience is a plus.
• Experience leading people and high-performing teams with technology and research.
• Ability to inspire professionals from technical and non-technical backgrounds.
• Strong collaboration and coaching skills across hierarchies.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing consulting engagements, budgeting, scoping, and roadmaps to align with timelines and SOW objectives.
• Creating high-quality deliverables such as decks, manuals, requirements, and models.
• Building credibility with client management and managing engagement scope expectations.
• Developing engagement hypotheses and training others on problem-solving techniques.
• Providing timely feedback and coaching on projects.
• Leveraging AI knowledge to apply it in client projects for increased efficiency.
• Assisting in client interviews and workshops (facilitation/content).
• Meeting utilization and sales targets and participating in hiring new associates.
• Mentoring junior associates and guiding project delivery.
