Job summary

Gordon Brothers in Boston, MA, is seeking an Associate, Corporate Accounting to support the lending side of the business. You will record cash entries, maintain loan schedules, and reconcile bank and general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policy.

The role reports to the Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting, and offers a hybrid work model in Boston with a competitive total compensation package including base salary, bonus, health/dental

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 1–2+ years of public and/or corporate accounting experience.
• Experience in financial services or professional services is preferred.
• Experience with lending, specialty finance, or asset-based lending accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record daily cash entries related to lending activity and maintain detailed loan schedules.
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in preparing reporting for management and select lending partners.
• Review and record revenue monthly, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts and recording journal entries.
• Assist with external audits and tax return preparation by providing requested information.
• Identify opportunities to streamline the close process through process improvements and technology.
• Complete ad hoc projects and analyses as requested.
