Precise Software Solutions, Inc. in Rockville, MD, is seeking an Associate Controller to support the CFO in managing accounting operations and financial reporting in a government contracting environment.

This role focuses on the monthly close, billing, cost accumulation and allocation, audit readiness, and compliance with FAR cost principles and government contract requirements, with a hybrid schedule in Rockville.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including 2-3 years in government contracting.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and FAR cost principles applicable to government contractors.
• Experience with direct and indirect cost accounting, cost pools, allocations, and rate structures.
• Experience with government contract billing, accounts receivable, and audit support.

Responsibilities

• Assist the CFO with day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries and documentation.
• Review general ledger reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Assist with billing, accounts receivable, and cash activity for government contracts.
• Maintain audit-ready accounting records and support responses to audit findings.
• Monitor indirect cost pools, rates, and cost allocations.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Collaborate with program management, contracts, HR, and operations.
