Job summary

Transamerica is seeking an Associate Actuary for Validation & Special Projects to join the actuarial model development team in the United States. This full-time role focuses on AXIS model development across Life, Health and Annuity spaces, including responsibilities such as US GAAP implementations and AI-driven workflow improvements.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or related field with 5 years of experience, or equivalent combinations with professional designation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science or related field with 5 years of relevant experience.
• FSA or ASA designation; or 8 years of relevant experience if using ASA/equivalent.
• In lieu of Bachelor's, Master's in listed discipline with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrates high-quality leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills.
• Effectively communicates advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to various audiences.
• Works well under pressure and within time constraints to accomplish objectives.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to optimization of modeling practices and AXIS model standards.
• Supports US GAAP calculations in Life, Health and Annuity models.
• Performs baselining and control reviews for US GAAP implementations in AXIS models.
• Collaborates with experience studies, business unit partners, and risk teams to test model changes.
• Leads special projects, including AI adoption to improve workflows in the team.
