Job summary

Buffalo Toronto Public Media seeks an Assistant Post-Production Editor to support post-production workflows for broadcast and digital content. The role involves organizing media, editing video and audio, and assisting editors and producers for broadcast, digital, and social delivery.

It is primarily on-site with a potential hybrid arrangement. The candidate will edit content for broadcast and digital platforms, ingest/transcode media, log footage, prep media for transcription, and coordinate

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent two years of experience.
• Proven skills in video production and digital video editing software (Avid, Adobe).
• Time management with ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Familiarity with current digital and social platforms.
• MS Office or similar programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Organized and able to work independently.
• Collaborates well across levels of the organization.
• Stays current on trends in video post-production.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Edit short- and long-form video and audio for broadcast and digital platforms (YouTube, Instagram, BTPM apps).
• Ingest and transcode media for post-production editors.
• Log footage for editors and producers.
• Prep media for transcription.
• Log and organize legacy and institutional footage.
• Coordinate with design and animation for post-production edits.
• Collaborate with Production Coordinator to meet deliverable requirements.
• Perform live edit duties for replay in live broadcasts.
