Job summary

Merlin Group in McLean, VA is seeking a resilient Assistant General Counsel (AGC) to join its in-house legal team. The role emphasizes government contracting, FAR/DFARS compliance, and technology transactions, with a hybrid/remote work arrangement.

The ideal candidate will have a J.D., active state bar membership, 8+ years of relevant experience, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to advise cross-functional teams on risk and regulatory matters.

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school and active bar in good standing.
• 8+ years of legal experience with government contracting and in-house experience preferred.
• Experience drafting, negotiating, and project-managing commercial technology contracts.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate broad range of contracts (licensing, SaaS, distributors, NDAs).
• Advise on government contracting matters including FAR/DFARS, GSA Schedule, CUI/CMMC, and supply chain requirements.
• Provide legal guidance to cross-functional teams and support risk mitigation.
