Job summary

OOFOS seeks an Assistant Controller to oversee accounting operations, ensure GAAP compliance, and deliver timely financial reporting. You will partner with cross-functional teams, supervise staff, support audits, and drive process improvements across the finance function.

The role requires strong accounting background, detail orientation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid based in Braintree, MA (Minimum 2 days onsite).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, management or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with inventory accounting and controls, including cycle counts and write-offs; consumer products/retail/footwear preferred.
• Proficiency in NetSuite and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with GAAP adherence.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Support Controller in consolidated financial reporting and management presentations.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting: GL, AP, AR, and inventory.
• Ensure transactions comply with accounting standards.
• Lead external audits and coordinate tax filings.
• Identify process improvements and automate workflows, optimize NetSuite.
• Mentor and develop accounting team; act as Controller's right hand.
