Job summary

Vaco is partnering with a growing construction company to hire an Assistant Controller at the Greater Salt Lake City, UT area. Hybrid work arrangement with three days on-site, reporting to the Controller to support financial operations, reporting, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in accounting or finance required.
• Construction experience preferred.
• PE-backed experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to maintain reporting accuracy and compliance.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while providing leadership and technical guidance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and key financial analysis initiatives.
• Strengthen internal controls, support audits and lender reporting, and serve as a key partner to the Controller.
