Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to lead testing and commissioning for HV, BESS, and PV facilities across our projects. You will work with the Commissioning Manager and subject matter experts to ensure systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in line with project requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.

This hybrid role requires on-site presence at job sites with partial remote work.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of utility-scale HV systems and BESS testing
• Experience coordinating commissioning teams and schedules
• Familiarity with safety programs and LOTO procedures
• Understanding of NFPA/NEC standards and ISO testing requirements

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager, the status of each project assigned.
• Review technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements related to commissioning and assist with the development of a project milestone and deliverables list, project specific commissioning plan, and commissioning procedures.
• Communicate with OEM suppliers regarding equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with project teams, including engineering, construction, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment in all commissioning activities.
• Assist with the development of integrated P6 testing and commissioning schedules. Ensure that the integrated testing and commissioning schedule is updated weekly
• Assist with the development of the commissioning resource plan for the project.
• Review energization procedures and assist with switching activities as required; develop switching plans and LOTO as needed.
• Identify and recommend corrective actions for issues identified during commissioning or operation.
• Support the development of standards and processes to improve business performance.
• Manage all pre-commissioning, cold, warm, and hot commissioning tests including synchronization and acceptance testing for BESS, HV, PV.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare detailed daily commissioning reports and review test results and corrective actions.
• Monitor timelines and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
• Continuously improve commissioning processes using feedback from projects.
• Maintain Lessons Learned and equipment warranty tracking logs.
• Establish and manage Safety Tagging, Lockout, Red Rope, and Work Permits for cold commissioning across projects.
