Job summary

The Music Center is seeking a part-time School Programs Specialist in Los Angeles to advise and support staff on arts integration partnerships and community residencies. You will nurture relationships with district leaders, teachers, parents, teaching artists, and community organizations to foster school-wide programming and events.

You will recruit teaching artists, plan program content, and ensure alignment with budgets and facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience designing and managing school- and district-wide arts integration partnerships and community residencies.
• Knowledge of current arts education programming practices and how to apply them to program design and implementation.
• Proven facilitation and interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of staff and external partners.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively while building strong relationships.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and databases.

Responsibilities

• Support and advise on arts integration partnerships and community residency programs across Los Angeles County.
• Determine educational goals in partnership with district, school, and community leadership.
• Identify and recruit teaching artists to expand arts education experiences for students and communities.
• Collaborate with artists, schools, partners, and staff to plan program content, curriculum, and logistics.
• Guide staff in selecting artists based on objectives, budget, facilities, and availability.
• Represent Music Center Education programs within the educational and artistic community.
• Uphold the highest standards of excellence and professionalism in all work.
