Job summary

Sealed Air Corporation in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Application Engineer to drive development, testing and commercial success of new and current packaging solutions within the food packaging industry. The role requires understanding packaging materials and customer operations, including food/meat science considerations.

You will develop test plans, analyze data, communicate results, and provide in-plant support and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in food science, meat science, packaging science or similar discipline (or equivalent work experience).
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience creating data-driven reports to communicate technical ideas.
• Experience with test method development and design of experiments.
• Professional, highly-motivated, reliable, and solutions-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new material and system designs through rigorous testing that simulate real world conditions and stresses.
• Work well within a cross-functional team.
• Assess packaging impact on shelf life for various products and communicate performance risks.
• Develop shrink bag materials solutions and deliver technical training to field support and customers.
• Perform root-cause analysis to drive data-based business decisions.
