Job summary

Sealed Air seeks an Application Engineering Manager, Food Service Packaging in Charlotte, NC. The role reports to the Director of Food Service R&D and drives innovative, sustainable, cost-effective packaging solutions aligned with corporate strategy.

The ADS team collaborates with customers and internal teams to transition new products to scaled solutions, while coaching engineers and shaping the technology roadmap. Travel 10% domestically and internationally is possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in packaging evaluation, design or development.
• 5–10 years industrial or research and development in food packaging.
• Exposure to packaging materials and systems: chemical, mechanical or materials engineering.

Responsibilities

• Safety: ensure adherence to safety protocol.
• Execution: allocate team resources for timely delivery of projects.
• Planning: maintain a data-driven forecast of resources and talent needs.
• People leadership: coach team members and oversee development plans.
• Strategic leadership: identify new business and technology opportunities with cross-functional teams.
• Cross-functional support: support business, supply chain, and quality teams.
• Communication: present to diverse audiences and connect technical concepts to business outcomes.
• Act as a technical reference: guide engineers on approaches and execution strategies.
