Job summary

Dexter Technologies Inc. is seeking an Analytics Engineer hybrid in Houston to bridge data engineering and business intelligence. You will design SQL views, staging tables, and star schemas in Azure SQL, and build semantic Power BI models for cross-functional reporting.

You will collaborate with Finance and Operations, monitor data pipelines, and troubleshoot issues. The role offers breadth, ownership across the data stack, and a small team where your work is visible and impactful.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a data-focused role with hands-on SQL work, including complex views
• Strong Power BI experience with semantic models and DAX
• Dimensional modeling fundamentals (star schemas, SCDs)
• Experience translating business needs into data models for stakeholders
• Attention to data integrity and careful join logic

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain SQL views, staging tables, and fact/dimension models in Azure SQL
• Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models and reports for stakeholders
• Monitor and troubleshoot Azure Data Factory pipelines and dataset refreshes
• Modify pipelines to support changing business requirements as needed
• Partner with business SMEs to translate reporting requests into accurate data models
• Document data models, metric definitions, and report logic for data lineage
• Uphold team standards for naming, DAX style, and semantic model quality
• Identify opportunities to improve data workflows and adopt new tools
