Job summary

Dexter Technologies Inc. is seeking a Hybrid Analytics Engineer in Houston, TX to bridge data engineering and Power BI business intelligence.

The role focuses on building and optimizing Azure SQL data warehouse models and operating scheduled Azure Data Factory and Power BI refresh pipelines to deliver accurate, business-facing reporting. You will work with stakeholders to translate requirements into well-documented data models, maintain documentation, and evolve team standards for naming

Qualifications

3+ years in a data-focused role with hands-on SQL (CTEs, window functions).
Experience building semantic models in Power BI from scratch and writing DAX.
Familiarity with dimensional modeling (star schemas, SCDs).
Experience translating business rules into data models with stakeholders.
Attention to detail to verify joins and data integrity in reports.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain SQL views, staging tables, and fact/dimension models in an Azure SQL data warehouse.
Build Power BI semantic models, DAX measures, and security roles for reports and dashboards.
Monitor and troubleshoot Azure Data Factory pipelines and Power BI dataset refreshes.
Translate reporting requests into accurate data models with business SMEs.
Document data models, metric definitions, and report logic to clarify data lineage.
