Job summary

SynergenX Health in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Principal Data & Analytics Engineer to own end-to-end data solutions, from discovery to production, leveraging Azure and Databricks.

You will partner with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Pharmacy, and Clinical Ops to design robust pipelines, semantic models, and dashboards, while mentoring others.

This hybrid role requires strong SQL/PySpark, Azure, and BI skills, and offers a path to influence enterprise data architecture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI engineering, or related discipline.
• Advanced SQL skills, including developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex data transformations.
• Strong Python and/or PySpark development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
• Strong Microsoft Azure experience, particularly Azure Data Factory and Azure data services.
• Strong data modeling skills, including dimensional models, star schemas, and analytical data models.
• Experience building and supporting production ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience implementing automated data quality validation, monitoring, and production alerting.
• Working knowledge of Power BI architecture, semantic models, and DAX.

Responsibilities

• Own complex data solutions from start to finish, including discovery, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build production data pipelines and analytical products using SQL, Python/PySpark, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Pharmacy, Clinical Ops, Marketing to define workflows and data definitions.
• Identify root causes of data discrepancies and implement lasting fixes.
• Evaluate downstream impacts on Power BI reports and KPIs as data evolves.
• Automate validation, monitoring, and alerting for data pipelines.
