Job summary

Dexter Technologies Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking an Analytics Engineer to bridge data engineering and business intelligence. You’ll design SQL views, staging tables, and fact/dimension models in Azure SQL, and build Power BI semantic models with DAX.

You’ll monitor data pipelines, perform light troubleshooting, and partner with Finance and Operations to translate reporting needs into accurate data. This hybrid, full-time role offers broad ownership and visible impact across the company.

Qualifications

3+ years in a data-focused role with hands-on SQL, including CTEs and window functions.
Solid Power BI experience with semantic models and DAX (CALCULATE, filter context).
Exposure to ERP data sources and ETL/ELT concepts; orchestration tools a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain SQL views, staging tables, and fact/dimension models in Azure SQL.
Build and maintain Power BI semantic models, relationships, and DAX measures with security roles.
Monitor Azure Data Factory pipelines and Power BI dataset refreshes; troubleshoot failures.
Make minor pipeline modifications to support changing business requirements.
Partner with business SMEs to translate reporting needs into accurate data models.
Write and maintain documentation for data models, metrics, and report logic.
