Job summary

Verizon is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer who will drive end-to-end deployment of our AI Connect Ultra Long Haul Network, coordinating engineering, real estate acquisition, and construction of ILA and OSP infrastructure.

This role works cross-functionally with Global Real Estate, Network Planning, PSC, AI Connect, VBG Sales, and multiple external vendors to ensure timelines, permits, and compliance are met. The position is hybrid with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of relevant experience (OSP/fiber engineering, construction, or site acquisition/real estate).
• Four or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work or military experience.
• A valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel up to ~25%.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and maintain OSP infrastructure; perform route analyses and contractor site walks.
• Assess site locations; create business cases for site acquisition; manage permits.
• Manage external vendors; align schedules with activations; issue service orders; report progress.
• Ensure regulatory compliance; liaise with landlords, officials, counsel, and contractors.
• Mentor junior OSP engineers; coordinate cross‑department efforts to resolve fiber issues.
