Job summary

Verizon is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer to drive end-to-end deployment of the AI Connect Ultra Long Haul Network, overseeing engineering, real estate acquisition, and construction of ILA and OSP infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with Global Real Estate, Network Planning, PSC, AI Connect, and vendors to execute network builds.

The role requires 4+ years in OSP/fiber engineering, site acquisition, or related fields, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four+ years of work experience.
• Four or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience (specifically in OSP/fiber engineering, construction, or site acquisition/real estate).
• A valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and maintain outside plant infrastructure. Conduct route analyses for underground and aerial fiber optic installations.
• Lead site acquisition activities and manage construction-related permits and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with external vendors and purchasing during site acquisition and construction to align with activation targets and develop service order requirements.
• Provide regular updates on construction progress, changes, and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
• Guide junior engineers and coordinate with internal departments to ensure best outcomes and problem resolution.
