Job summary

Ameritas is seeking an Actuarial Intern to drive the business by supporting actuarial functions and staff by performing actuarial analyses and calculations, preparing reports, and participating in actuarial projects. The internship may support Individual Product, Group, and Corporate Actuarial.

This internship will begin May 2027. This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from remote in Lincoln, NE during the summer, with the potential to continue supporting the team during

Qualifications

Actively pursuing a four-year degree in actuarial science.
Completed or enrolled in Interest Theory (or equivalent) OR earned credit for one actuarial exam.
Familiarity with Excel and/or programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, and VBA.
Strong mathematical skills.
Starting with the second (sophomore) year, take at least one actuarial exam each academic year.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Gather and prepare data for analysis.
Participate in programming, preparation, and interpretation of actuarial reports.
Participate in projects.
Develop new ideas and processes to improve departments’ performance.
Comply with internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions.
