Job summary

Merrill Gardens, a privately-owned family company, seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist for our Corporate Office in Seattle (Eastlake), WA. This role features a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home, and a comprehensive benefits package.

The AP Specialist will manage invoices, payments, check runs, vendor records, and AP workflow coordination with Operations and Accounting teams, while contributing to government reporting and GL integrity.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required and an AA degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
• At least 4 years of accounts payable and general ledger experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills;; high level of proficiency in English.
• Proficiency in Excel; YARDI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Payable, including entering invoices, coordinating payments, processing expense reports, and handling check requests.
• Conduct regular and urgent check runs and maintain vendor records; research vendor and employee inquiries.
• Communicate with Operations and Accounting teams on AP workflow; serve as a resource for support.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure accurate GL entries.
• Assist with government reporting (sales taxes, 1099s, unclaimed property).
• Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
