Job summary

Luster National, Inc. seeks an Accounts Payable Accountant, Capital Programs in the San Francisco Bay Area.

You will manage vendor invoices, progress payments, and grant reimbursements for large capital infrastructure projects, working closely with finance leadership to ensure accurate, auditable records and timely disbursements. This long‑term, full‑time role is hybrid (3 days on-site, with potential for more) and requires strong ERP experience, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience.
• Experience processing accounts payable, including complex vendor invoices and voucher exceptions.
• Experience preparing journal entries and financial statements for close.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle/PeopleSoft/SAP).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Review contractor and consultant invoices and progress payment applications against contracts.
• Process progress payments, retention withholding, and change order payments.
• Verify expenditures are coded and documented per grant requirements.
• Process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payroll documents; resolve voucher exceptions.
• Prepare month-end/year-end journal entries and reconcile accounts.
• Prepare financial statements, ledgers, and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile bank statements and cash handling reports; report variances.
• Prepare 1099 adjustments and file quarterly sales/use tax returns.
• Prepare work papers and reports for funding agencies; report grant expenditures.
• Maintain capital-funded payment files and fixed asset records; audit-ready.
• Interpret policies and resolve accounting questions with vendors and agencies.
