Job summary

Oregon Department of Justice is hiring an Accounting Technician to support the Division of Child Support, Financial Services team. You will perform accounting and reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy in child support accounts and support central financial operations. Hybrid work is available after training based on business needs.

The role emphasizes identifying errors, solving problems, and delivering reliable financial services with a commitment to equity and inclusive teamwork.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience calculating, recording, and maintaining accounting information and balancing discrepancies.
• One year of experience with 9+ accounting credit hours if 43 quarter hours completed.
• State of Oregon Accounting Career Mobility Program or equivalent accounting certificate.
• At least 94 quarter/62 semester hours with accounting coursework.

Responsibilities

• Review OST reports to identify and process direct deposit returns and reversals.
• Create, log, and distribute direct deposit reversal requests with approvals.
• Process and maintain direct deposit applications and activation.
• Examine returned item reports and redeposit processes; resolve issues in receivable accounts.
• Maintain logs, ledgers, and documentation with data security guidelines.
• Provide customer service related to direct deposits and payments.
• Perform data entry and organize team filing systems using Microsoft Office tools.
• Support Financial Services through cross-training tasks and fund validation.
