Job summary

The Oregon Department of Justice is seeking an Accounting Technician to join the Division of Child Support, Financial Services. You will perform various accounting and reconciling functions to ensure accuracy and quality of child support accounts.

This role offers hybrid work after training based on business needs. Successful candidates will be analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of providing strong customer service for direct deposit and child support payments.

Qualifications

• Two years of accounting experience including coding, balancing, and resolving discrepancies.
• One year of accounting experience with 43 quarter hours including 9 in accounting.
• State of Oregon Accounting Mobility Program or equivalent accounting certificate.
• 94 quarter or 62 semester credits with accounting courses including introductory accounting.

Responsibilities

• Review OST reports to identify and process direct deposit returns and reversals.
• Create and log direct deposit reversal requests after approvals.
• Process and maintain direct deposit applications and update account information.
• Examine returned item reports, redeposit processes, and resolve related issues.
• Maintain logs, ledgers, and tracking in line with data security guidelines.
• Provide customer service related to direct deposit and child support payments.
• Perform data entry and organize team filing using Microsoft Office.
• Support Financial Services with cross-training tasks like payment adjustments and EFT updates.
