Job summary

City of Ann Arbor is seeking an Accounting Specialist III for the Housing Commission. The role oversees accounts payable and accounts receivable, processes invoices, and maintains accurate cash ledgers under the Finance Director's supervision.

Starting rate is $22.41 per hour with a 6-month probationary period. A 2-year background in housing programs is preferred; benefits include medical, vision, dental, and paid leave. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
• Alternative combination of education and work experience may be considered.
• Bachelor's degree preferred with related coursework or experience.
• Experience in Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher or public housing programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices and payments for tenants and voucher clients.
• Enter and research invoices, ensure accuracy in records.
• Accept and apply payments and keep cash ledgers up-to-date.
• Support Finance Director with miscellaneous accounting tasks.
