Morris James LLP in Wilmington, DE is seeking an Accounting Operations Manager to support the Accounting Department. The role works with the Director of Finance to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency of accounting functions.

The position also provides backup support for critical accounting and finance tasks and requires discretion with sensitive information. The candidate should have strong technical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, and adaptability to learn new software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
• Strong tech aptitude and ability to learn new software
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Discretion with confidential financial and personnel data
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Process all accounts payable requests and resolve payment issues.
• Manage vendor setups and maintain W-9 records.
• Prepare 1099s and ensure filing deadlines.
• Reconcile firm credit cards and real estate bank accounts.
• Assist with month-end close in Aderant Expert.
• Support financial reporting and variance analyses.
• Backup for Director of Finance and payroll-related tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
