Job summary

Society Insurance, headquartered in Fond du Lac, WI, invites ambitious students to join our Finance team as Accounting Intern for the 2027 summer with possible extension into the school year. You will support accounting processes by performing general duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

This paid internship offers hands-on experience, flexible hybrid scheduling at our corporate office, and opportunities for networking and potential full-time employment after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of accounting topics.
• GPA 3.0+ on a 4.0 scale preferred.
• Completion of at least one accounting course preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and AP/AR systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily remittance scanning, verify reports, prepare cash envelopes, and update databases.
• Assist bi-weekly accounts payable, code invoices, set up vendors, process payments.
• Verify accounts by balancing daily claims check registers and reconciling bank statements.
• Assist with monthly financial statements preparation, including journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare daily incoming mail and distribute bills accordingly.
• Assist with Finance department projects as assigned.
• Assist with unclaimed property processes.
• Provide backup to Accounting Department when needed.
