Job summary

Society Insurance is seeking an Accounting Intern for Summer 2027 to support the Finance team with general accounting duties. Hybrid flexibility and a commutable Fond du Lac location are highlighted. The internship offers paid, hands-on experience and potential extension into the school year.

You will work on remittance scanning, AP processing, reconciliations, monthly reporting, and various finance projects under the Accounting Manager guidance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of accounting topics.
• 3.0 or better cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale preferred.
• Completion of at least one accounting course preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Accounts Payable and Receivable system, Internet, and e-mail software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily remittance scanning, verify reports, prepare cash envelopes and update databases.
• Assist with bi-weekly accounts payable process including coding invoices and vendor setup.
• Verify accounts by balancing daily claims check register; reconcile bank statements.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Verify billing reports and mail daily refund and dividend checks.
• Assist with other finance projects and unclaimed property processes.
