Milliman, a leading actuarial consulting firm, seeks an Accounting Assistant to support billing, accounts payable, and data entry. The role provides entry-level exposure to multiple business units and opportunities for professional growth within the Accounting Department.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, eager to learn, and aims to develop a long-term career in accounting and financial operations.

Qualifications

• Completion of college coursework in accounting or business; an Associate's degree preferred or in progress.
• Must be able to work in the Brookfield, Wisconsin office at least 2-3 days per month.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Familiarity with time and billing software and accounting fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Review, process, and administer employee expense reports and reimbursements per policy.
• Assist with onboarding/offboarding and accounting system setup and user access.
• Maintain data across client, vendor, employee accounts and financial systems.
• Support accounts payable by coding invoices, obtaining approvals, and documenting records.
• Prepare routine journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly accounting processes and reporting activities.
• Monitor timesheet completion and manage accounting mail and payments.
• Review cash receipts applications and investigate discrepancies.
