Job summary

Emergent Software in Bloomington, MN is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a 3-4 month contract with the potential for extension. The role is hybrid with a minimum of two days onsite per week and requires candidates authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

The candidate will evaluate accounting operations and financial workflows, identify inefficiencies, and collaborate with accounting, finance, reporting, and data teams to enable automation and modernization.

Qualifications

• Meaningful accounting experience is required; experience beyond education alone is not enough.
• Experience as a Business Analyst, Process Analyst, or similar role.
• Proven ability to document current-state processes and propose improvements.
• Strong understanding of accounting operations, reconciliations, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate accounting operations related to wire transfers, funding, and reconciliations.
• Identify gaps, bottlenecks, and manual processes for improvement.
• Shadow team members and document current-state processes and controls.
• Develop maps, documentation, and roadmaps for implementation.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand challenges and opportunities for automation.
• Present findings and actionable recommendations to leadership.
