Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Hy-Chi Department Clerk to support the Hy-Chi counter. You will greet customers, take orders, prepare and replenish products, and keep the department clean and organized. This fast-paced role offers on-site work with an emphasis on friendly service and teamwork.

You will review daily orders, manage inventory, and assist with pricing and cash handling while following Hy-Vee’s dress code and safety standards. Training is provided, and no extensive prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (experience not required; training provided).
• Ability to perform basic math and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Capable of following written and verbal instructions with attention to detail.
• Commitment to friendly, helpful customer service and team collaboration.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures relevant to food service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and take orders at the Hy-Chi counter.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish products; pull items from cooler/freezer as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the department workspace.
• Operate the department register, process payments, and provide accurate change.
• Ensure product freshness and quality standards throughout the shift.
• Assist with ordering, stocking, and pricing of products for customers.
